Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit applies to the assembly of leather goods using leather production machines. Machine operations may include techniques involving at least one type of operation and one type of machine. Competency must be demonstrated in the use of machine or machine operation requiring some work positioning but where ultimate precision is assisted by machine guide or work marker.Work may be conducted in small to large scale enterprises and may involve individual and team activities. Work is performed within defined procedures under direct supervision. The application of this unit is according to OHS practices of the enterprise and workplace practices, which may include:requirements prescribed by legislation, awards, agreements and conditions of employmentstandard operating procedureswork instructionsoral, written and visual communicationquality practices, including responsibility for maintenance of own work quality and contribution to quality improvement of team or section outputhousekeepingtasks related to environmental protection, waste disposal, pollution control and recyclingThis unit requires the application of skills associated with planning and organising safe and effective use of leather production processes as well as the application of knowledge of technology used. This unit also requires and ability to check the quality of outcomes and problem solve production machine or production faults. Self management and planning and organising skills are used to ensure work complies with workplace requirements. | ||
